Berhampur Police announced strict enforcement against unauthorised DJ vehicles and marriage processions, causing harassment, traffic congestion, and noise pollution.
Noise Pollution Guidelines
Authorities highlighted that permissible noise levels in residential areas remain capped at 55 dB between 6 AM and 10 PM. Silence zones include areas within 100 meters of hospitals, educational institutions, and courts. Any violation of these limits will lead to criminal action against the DJ vehicle operators and procession organisers.
Enforcement Measures
Police confirmed that unauthorised modifications of DJ vehicles and glaring lights in marriage processions have created serious inconvenience for citizens, especially the elderly and children. Berhampur Police, in coordination with the RTO office, will now strictly enforce noise pollution guidelines.
Officials stated that any procession without prior police permission for the route and timing will face criminal charges. Police will also seize DJ vehicles involved in violations. Citizens have been urged to cooperate with enforcement measures to ensure public safety and reduce disturbances.
