A roadside eatery, Jaya Hotel, located in Satyabadi, Odisha, has come under scrutiny after a viral video alleged the sale of beef.
Authorities swiftly sealed the establishment and imposed Section 163 of the BNS, creating a one-kilometer prohibition zone around the hotel to maintain law and order.
Officials have sent the meat sample from the hotel to the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in Bhubaneswar for testing. The Puri district administration is ensuring independent monitoring of the procedures due to the sensitive nature of the issue.
Additionally, meat samples from vendors in Satyabadi and Puri town have been collected for examination. An individual injured in an altercation related to the incident is currently receiving medical care.
Puri Superintendent of Police confirmed that a detailed probe is underway, and appropriate action will be taken based on the findings. Food safety officials and multi-disciplinary squads are conducting regular raids to ensure compliance with regulations. Authorities urge the public not to believe in rumors and to support the efforts of the police and district administration.
