The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is poised to host the T20 Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates, following a pivotal Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting attended by all 25 member nations.
While the official announcement is pending, ACC insiders confirmed the UAE as the selected venue, with India expected to play its matches in Dubai.
“The BCCI will host the Asia Cup in the UAE. India is likely to play all its matches in Dubai,” said an ACC source, adding that scheduling discussions are still ongoing. The tournament, slated for September, must wrap up before the final week to avoid clashing with India’s Test series against the West Indies.
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla represented India in the meeting virtually. “He will brief the members. I don’t believe in speculations, so you’ll get to know officially in a few days,” said BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.
ACC Chairman and Pakistan Cricket Board head Mohsin Naqvi also weighed in from Dhaka, stating, “We have had discussions with the BCCI and there are a few issues that we will resolve shortly. We are all on the same page.”
In a surprising twist, only two of the ten agenda items were addressed during the meeting, reportedly due to BCCI’s influence.
