Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) President Aminul Islam has arrived in Lahore and is expected to attend the emergency meeting between the ICC and PCB on Sunday.
He was received at the airport by PCB CEO Salman Naseer and will also meet PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi during his visit.
The meeting comes amid Pakistan’s continued stance to boycott the February 15 India match in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026. The Pakistan government directed its men’s team not to play against India, following the ICC’s rejection of Bangladesh’s request to relocate their games from India.
Reports indicate an ICC delegation will also reach Lahore for the high-level talks. Pakistan risks severe sanctions if it refuses to change its stance, including possible bans on players in franchise leagues and withholding of PCB’s revenue share to compensate for losses from the cancelled IND vs PAK tie. Broadcasters may also pursue legal action, as the fixture generates significant revenue.
Pakistan recently edged out the Netherlands in their opening match, but the looming boycott dispute threatens to overshadow their campaign. The ICC insists that official communication is required from PCB, as social media posts do not count under its protocols.
