Double Olympic medallist PV Sindhu outclassed Yue Yann Jaslyn Hooi of Singapore in straight games in the women’s singles competition on Thursday and advanced to the quarterfinals of Badminton Asia Championships.
The fourth-seeded Indian defeated Jaslyn Hooi by 21-16 21-16 scoreline in 42 minutes.
She will next face third seed Chinese He Bing Jiao in the quarterfinals.
On the other hand, the third-seeded Indian men’s doubles pairing of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also entered the quarterfinals with a 21-17 21-15 win over Japan’s Akira Koga and Taichi Saito.
