Maddock Films has dropped the first look posters of its upcoming horror-comedy Thama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Paresh Rawal.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film blends vampire lore with Indian mythology, promising a genre-defying cinematic experience.
Ayushmann plays Alok, a historian tracing the mythological roots of vampirism, described as “Insaaniyat ki aakhri umeed.” Rashmika transforms into Tadaka, “Roshni ki ek hi paheli kiran,” while Nawazuddin embodies Yakshasan, “Andhere ka Badshah,” a vampire with a shadowy past. Paresh Rawal adds comic relief as Mr. Ram Bajaj Goyal, a man who finds tragedy in comedy.
Inspired by the immortal warrior Ashwatthama from the Mahabharata, Thama spans two timelines—modern India and ancient Vijayanagar—intertwined by a haunting love story. The film is set to release worldwide this Diwali, with a major teaser titled “The World of Thama” dropping on August 19 at 11:11 AM.
