The 10th edition of Ayurveda Day will be celebrated on 23rd September 2025 at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, marking a historic shift in the global promotion of traditional Indian medicine.
For the first time, the celebration will take place on a fixed calendar date, departing from the earlier tradition of aligning it with Dhanvantari Jayanti.
Union Minister Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ayush and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, announced the milestone during a conference at Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. He emphasized that Goa, with its international appeal and wellness heritage, is the ideal venue to amplify this year’s theme: “Ayurveda for People & Planet.”

The theme reflects the Government of India’s commitment to positioning Ayurveda as a sustainable, integrative healthcare solution that addresses both human health and environmental well-being. AIIA Goa, a state-of-the-art institute under the Ministry of Ayush, will host the main event, showcasing India’s world-class infrastructure and global partnerships in traditional medicine.
Ayurveda Day 2025 will feature nationwide activities across states and union territories, along with a robust international outreach through Indian Missions, global universities, wellness organizations, and diaspora networks. Building on last year’s participation from over 150 countries, this year’s celebration aims to expand its global footprint and reaffirm India’s leadership in holistic health systems.
The event also aligns with India’s broader cultural diplomacy, presenting Ayurveda not just as a heritage science but as a modern, evidence-based, and planet-friendly healthcare model for the world.
