The sacred city of Ayodhya is scheduled to witness yet another historic spiritual moment as the second Pran Pratishtha ceremony will take place at the Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir today.

This time, the installation involves Raja Ram, the regal form of Lord Ram, along with idols of Mata Sita, Lakshman, and Hanuman.

The grand event is led by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also celebrating his 53rd birthday today. The ceremony begins at 11 AM with Vedic chants and a havan, organised by the Anjaneya Sewa Trust under the guidance of Shashikant Maharaj, president of Anjani Seva Sansthan.

Unlike the first Pran Pratishtha held in January 2024, which consecrated the baal roop (child form) of Lord Ram, this installation marks the King form (Raja Ram), symbolising his sovereignty.

Key highlights of the event include:

  • The CM performing the symbolic ‘uncovering of the eyes’ ritual of Ram and Sita idols.

  • 62,000 boxes of special prasad (chickpea and moong dal barfi) being sent from Lucknow.

  • Sculpted white marble idols and throne crafted in Jaipur, Rajasthan.

  • Traditional Nagara-style temple architecture with intricately carved temple walls.

  • Exclusive costumes for the deities, designed by renowned designer Manish Tiwari using zari and precious stones.

To maintain sanctity, public access to the temple’s first floor is limited, although general darshan of Ram Lalla continues. Security is heightened with CRPF, SSF, and PAC personnel deployed, and resident verifications are underway in surrounding areas.

The second floor of the temple is set to feature a multi-language display of the Ramayana, including its oldest recorded versions, enriching the cultural and devotional atmosphere of the complex.

This three-day event began on June 3 and concludes today with spiritual grandeur and national attention.
