An auto-rickshaw overturned on National Highway 55 near Mangalpur on the outskirts of Jagatsinghpur, injuring five people, including the driver.
The accident occurred when the driver attempted to avoid a collision with a scooter that suddenly crossed in front of the vehicle before turning into a narrow lane.
Reports confirm that the auto-rickshaw was travelling from Cuttack towards Jagatsinghpur when the scooter appeared unexpectedly. The driver applied a sudden brake to prevent impact, but the vehicle lost balance and overturned on the highway.
All five occupants sustained injuries in the crash. They were immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors provided first aid. Fortunately, their condition remained stable, and they were later discharged.
The incident, captured on a nearby CCTV camera, highlights the dangers of sudden lane changes and reckless driving on busy highways. Authorities have urged commuters to exercise caution and maintain safe distances to prevent similar accidents.
