Felix Auger-Aliassime continued his stellar start to 2025 by securing a thrilling victory over Quentin Halys at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships.
The 24-year-old Canadian battled through a challenging match, ultimately winning 5-7, 6-4, 6-3 to reach his first ATP 500 final on outdoor hard courts.
Auger-Aliassime’s latest triumph adds to an impressive year, having already claimed titles in Adelaide and Montpellier. This win marks his fourth deciding-set victory of the week and brings his season’s victory count to 16, the highest on the ATP Tour.
Reflecting on his hard-fought win, Auger-Aliassime said, “I don’t know how I pulled it through today. It was just about having positive self-talk and digging deep physically.”
Halys, who reached a new career high of No. 59 in the PIF ATP Rankings, put up a strong fight, but it was Auger-Aliassime’s composure in crucial moments that secured his spot in the final. The Canadian will face either Stefanos Tsitsipas or Tallon Griekspoor in the championship match.
