Bhubaneswar Police dismissed ASI Rajesh Kullu from service after his alleged involvement in a bribery case registered under Vigilance P.S. Case No. 10 dated June 16, 2026.
He reportedly demanded and accepted money from an accused person for releasing seized mobile phones.
The Commissionerate Police acted swiftly under Article 311(2)(b) of the Constitution of India, removing Kullu from duty with immediate effect. The department also issued one-month termination notices to two Home Guards—Jyotiranjan Behera and Abdul Sarfaraj Khan—linked to the same case.
Officials confirmed that the disciplinary action reflects the force’s firm stance against corruption. The Commissionerate reiterated its zero-tolerance policy, emphasising that any officer or staff member found engaging in bribery or malpractice will face strict legal and departmental consequences.
Senior officers stated that the decision aims to preserve public trust and accountability within the police system. The Vigilance case against Kullu has drawn attention to the department’s commitment to transparency and ethical conduct.
