The Director General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Yaduvir Singh Rawat, recently visited the Konark Sun Temple to assess ongoing conservation efforts.
During his visit, he examined the structural integrity of the temple and the removal of sand deposits from the sanctum sanctorum. A 15-member team of experts joined him in evaluating preservation measures aimed at safeguarding the temple’s architectural heritage.
The Konark Sun Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has been a focal point for conservation efforts due to erosion and structural concerns. Rawat’s inspection is expected to provide crucial insights into future restoration projects, ensuring the site’s preservation for generations to come.
