National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, in collaboration with the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), organised an exclusive roadshow for Angul Aluminium Park Pvt. Ltd. (AAPPL).

This joint venture between IDCO and NALCO aims to develop a dedicated industrial park in Angul, Odisha. The event took place in Bhubaneswar on September 23, 2025, and attracted government officials, industry leaders, investors, and other key stakeholders.

Hemant Kumar Sharma, IAS, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department, Government of Odisha, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural session. He was joined by Brijendra Pratap Singh, CMD of NALCO, and distinguished guests, including Manikanta Naik, Managing Director of Tata Steel SEZ, and Jagdish Arora, Director (P&T) of NALCO.

In his keynote address, Mr. Singh emphasized that the roadshow aimed to showcase the Angul Aluminium Park, which offers world-class facilities such as advanced road connectivity, efficient transportation, uninterrupted power and water supply, administrative offices, training centers, and laboratories. He announced that NALCO would supply 50,000 tonnes of hot metal annually to downstream industries, enhancing cost-effective production and competitiveness.

Hemant Kumar Sharma highlighted Odisha’s strength in aluminium production, noting that while the state produces nearly 72% of India’s primary aluminium, its downstream output is relatively low, creating significant growth opportunities. He referred to aluminium as “the future metal,” with applications in packaging, appliances, transportation, electric vehicles, and aerospace. He described the aluminium park as a major growth opportunity, set to expand rapidly. Sharma encouraged investors to explore the potential of AAPPL, which currently spans 223 acres and is expected to grow to over 600 acres. Strategically located near NALCO and key industrial hubs, AAPPL has already attracted three industries, with four more in the pipeline. He also praised both central and state initiatives, including GST reductions, investor-friendly policies, and active support for entrepreneurs. Sharma concluded by reaffirming Odisha’s commitment to promoting downstream and ancillary industries through its progressive Industrial Policy.

During the event, Manikanta Naik shared success stories from the Gopalpur Industrial Park, which now hosts 14 major industries in sectors like chemicals, solar cells, and green hydrogen. He expressed strong confidence in the future of Angul Aluminium Park Pvt. Ltd. (AAPPL), describing it as a promising venture that could match, and potentially surpass, Gopalpur’s success.

Jagdish Arora delivered the vote of thanks, stating that the roadshow reaffirmed Odisha’s vision and NALCO’s commitment to establishing AAPPL as a vibrant industrial hub that promotes investment, innovation, and job creation.

At the event, IPICOL, NALCO, and JNARDDC made presentations showcasing Odisha’s investor-friendly policies, advancements in industrial park infrastructure, and promising opportunities in the aluminium downstream sector. The gathering drew over 100 participants, including prominent investors, entrepreneurs, and industry associations.
