Passengers aboard an Ama Bus had a narrow escape after the vehicle caught fire near Kalinga Studio Square in Bhubaneswar on Saturday, triggering panic in the busy area. Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported.
According to sources, smoke was first noticed emanating from the bus while it was in operation. Alert passengers and the bus staff acted swiftly, allowing everyone to safely evacuate the vehicle before the situation escalated. Their prompt response helped avert a major accident.
Preliminary findings indicate that the fire may have been caused by a short circuit in the bus. Fire services personnel rushed to the spot soon after receiving the alert and successfully brought the blaze under control.
The incident temporarily disrupted traffic movement in the area, causing brief inconvenience to commuters. Normal traffic was restored after emergency teams cleared the site.
