Puri: The Srimandir management committee on Tuesday approved the rituals and schedule for the Rath Yatra to Niladri Bije prepared in the Chhattisa Niyog meeting yesterday.
Under the chairmanship of Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb, the meeting of the Srimandir management committee was held at Niladri Bhakta Niwas here today. Srimandir Chief Administrator Vir Vikram Yadav, all the members of the temple management committee and senior administrative officers were present.
As Netrotsav and Nabajouban Darshan coincide with Rath Yatra, the management committee has decided that this year the rituals for Rath Yatra will be held as per the 1971 Rath Yatra.
Also, the management committee members proposed to digitise all the old records.
Srimandir Chief Administrator VV Yadav said, “Emphasis was given in the meeting on how all rituals, from Rath Yatra to Niladri Bije, will be held smoothly.”
He, however, said that this year devotees will be deprived of the Nabajouban Darshan due to a shortage of time as many rituals will be performed along with Netrotsav and Rath Yatra in one day.
“Priority has been given to the disciplined darshan, safety and convenience of the devotees, said the Srimandir Chief Administrator.
On July 7, the world-famous Rath Yatra will be held, and on the eve of it, on July 6, ‘Agyan Mala’ will be sent from Patidian to the Ratha Khala. Then the three gigantic chariots will be pulled to the Simha Dwara or the Lion Gate of Shree Jagannath Temple.
Mangala Alati – 2 am, Dasabatara Thakura Bahuda – 2:40 am, Anasar Tatti Phita – 3:00 am, Daitapati Sarbanga – 3:45 am, Netrosava Bandapana – 4 am, Duarapal Puja at 5:25 am, Gopala Ballavm and Sakala Dhoopa – 6 AM to 7 AM. , Senapata Lagi – 7.30 am to noon.
Similarly, it has been decided that the Ratha Pratistha will start at 11 am, Mangalarpana at 1 am, and Dhadi Pahandi at 1:10 am and end at 2:30 pm.
Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb will perform the Chhera Pahanra ritual at 4 pm. After mounting of wooden horses to the chariots at 4:30 pm, the pulling of chariots by devotees will begin at 5 pm.
This year, the Bahuda Yatra, the return journey of Lord Jagannath and his siblings Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra will be held on the 15th of July while the Suna Besha will be held on the 17th of July.
