The world-famous Puri Rath Yatra is set to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) into its event management this year.
In an unprecedented move, AI-powered drones will be deployed to monitor crowd movements and regulate traffic, ensuring a seamless and secure festival experience.
A high-level review meeting, chaired by Puri District Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain, focused on various aspects of the event, including preparations for the Akshaya Tritiya celebrations on April 30, which mark the beginning of chariot construction. Officials from multiple departments were directed to complete their respective assignments by the end of May.
Apart from technological interventions, efforts are underway to refine infrastructure, sanitation, healthcare, transportation, and ritual scheduling at the Jagannath Temple. A critical coordination meeting of Chhatisa Nijoga will take place on April 19 to finalise the plans for Akshaya Tritiya.
District officials have assured that drain cleaning and road repair work will be completed before the festival commences, promising a safer and well-organised event for devotees and visitors alike.
