The crash, which occurred near Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, saw the aircraft plummet into a residential area, including the B.J. Medical College hostel, killing several students on the ground.
Preliminary reports suggest possible human error or a bird strike, though investigations involving India’s Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), along with experts from the UK and US, are ongoing. Retrieving one of the plane’s black boxes has been hailed as a critical step in uncovering the cause.
With the investigation still in its early stages, the focus remains on supporting the grieving families while seeking answers to prevent future disasters.
