Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the Monsoon session scheduled to begin on September 1, all legislators of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will undergo Covid 19 RT-PCR tests.
According to a notification issued by the State Health and Family Welfare department, the RT-PCR test along with the antibody test of all MLAs and ministers of the Odisha Legislative Assembly will be carried out from August 29 to 31.
“Director, Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar is requested to instruct the team of Doctors to collect blood samples of Hon’ble Members of Odisha Legislative Assembly for Anti Body test along with samples for RT-PCR test of COVID-19,” the notification read.
“The Director, Regional Medical Research Centre, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar is requested to do the Anti Body test of the collected samples and to report to the Secretary, Odisha Legislative Assembly in due time,” the notification added.
The legislators and other assembly staff who test Covid-19 negative will be allowed entry into the House. Members of the House will be given masks, sanitizers, and gloves every day of the assembly session.
The members of the legislative assembly (MLAs), their personal staff, workers, and staff of the Secretariat who have not received at least one dose of Covid vaccine will not be allowed entry into the House.
The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has been tasked with sanitising the entire Assembly ahead of the commencement of the session.
