India successfully conducted a test launch of the Agni-3 intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) from the Integrated Test Range at Chandipur, Odisha, on Friday.
The test, carried out under the supervision of the Strategic Forces Command(SFC), validated all operational and technical parameters, officials confirmed.
The Agni-3, developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is a two-stage, solid-fuelled ballistic missile with a strike range exceeding 3,000 km.
Capable of carrying both conventional and nuclear warheads, it forms a key component of India’s credible minimum deterrence strategy. The missile has been in service with the SFC since 2011, following successful developmental trials.
