The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has emerged victorious in the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections 2025, securing three out of four central panel positions, including the coveted post of President.
ABVP’s Aryan Maan won the presidency with a commanding margin of 16,196 votes, defeating NSUI’s Joslyn Nandita Choudhary. Maan pledged to prioritize metro concessional passes for students and better training equipment for university athletes. He urged supporters to celebrate peacefully, citing the Delhi High Court’s ban on victory processions.
While ABVP dominated the panel, NSUI’s Rahul Jhansla retained the Vice President post with 29,339 votes, defeating ABVP’s Govind Tanwar. NSUI national president Varun Choudhary congratulated Jhansla and emphasized the party’s resilience against what he described as a “combined force” of DU administration, Delhi government, and RSS-BJP machinery.
ABVP’s Kunal Chaudhary and Deepika Jha won the Secretary and Joint Secretary posts respectively, rounding off the party’s strong performance. Jha, who hails from Bihar, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support she received.
Other student groups like SFI and AISA failed to secure any seats this year. The results mark a shift from 2024, when NSUI had briefly reclaimed the presidency after a seven-year gap.
