A one-month-old infant boy was rescued from a jungle near Bhagalpur village in Keonjhar district, Odisha, under Joda police station on Monday, June 16.
Local villagers, while grazing goats, heard the baby’s cries and found him covered in ants. They promptly rescued him and alerted ASHA worker Pramila Naik, who rushed the infant to Champua Hospital.
Dr. Sonarama Murmu treated the child, confirming he is now stable. Authorities are investigating the circumstances of the abandonment.
