Bollywood music composer Sachin Sanghvi, known as one half of the acclaimed duo Sachin–Jigar, has been arrested following allegations of sexual assault made by a woman in her 20s.
The incident reportedly occurred after the composer allegedly promised her professional opportunities and marriage.
Sachin Sanghvi’s Arrest and Allegations
According to police officials, the arrest took place on Thursday, October 23, under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The woman, who filed a formal complaint earlier this week, claimed that Sachin contacted her through Instagram in February 2024. After initial communication, they began speaking over the phone, during which Sachin allegedly offered her a chance to collaborate on a music album project.
She further stated that he later proposed marriage and sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions. Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.
Statement from Sachin Sanghvi’s Lawyer
Sachin’s lawyer, Aditya Mithe, dismissed the allegations, calling them “baseless and unsubstantiated.”
“The allegations in the FIR against my client are absolutely baseless and unsubstantiated. There are no merits to the case,” Mithe said in a statement to the media.
He also claimed that Sachin’s detention was unlawful, which led to his immediate release on bail.
“We intend to defend these allegations fully and unequivocally,” he added.
As of now, Sachin Sanghvi has not issued any public statement. His official Instagram handle (@soulfulsachin) has been deactivated, and his music partner Jigar Saraiya has also not commented on the case.

Sachin Sanghvi, along with Jigar Saraiya, forms one of Bollywood’s most successful music duos — Sachin–Jigar. Their compositions blend contemporary sound with Indian melody, earning them wide acclaim.
Their recent projects include the Diwali release Thamma, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna. The duo also composed the hit song Aaj Ki Raat from Stree 2 in 2024, which became a major chartbuster across streaming platforms.
