In a major push toward accelerating infrastructure development across the state, Minister for Works, Law, and Excise, Prithviraj Harichandan, chaired a comprehensive high-level review meeting today at Bhubaneswar.
The meeting focused on evaluating the ongoing execution and progress of major road, bridge, and civil infrastructure initiatives under the Charbatia and Baleshwar Divisions.
Key discussions centered on overcoming execution hurdles, strictly adhering to project timelines, and ensuring high-quality standards for public amenities.
Heritage & Pilgrimage Tourism Boost
A key priority highlighted during the review was the peripheral development and beautification of prominent religious destinations in Jajpur district:
- Mahabinayak Temple: Plans were finalized to upgrade tourist infrastructure, improve visitor convenience, and enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the sacred site to cater to growing pilgrim footfall.
- Chhatia Bata Temple: Focus was placed on road-widening projects leading to the shrine, creating seamless traffic management systems, and building robust surrounding infrastructure to facilitate smooth transit for devotees.
Accelerating Baleshwar’s Urban Infrastructure
The Minister also conducted an in-depth performance audit of ongoing works in the Baleshwar Division. Key projects brought under the scanner include:
- Baleshwar Ring Road: Reviewing physical progress to ensure fast-tracked completion.
- Fakir Mohan Golei to Station Chhak Stretch: Prioritizing road widening and surface upgrades to ease city traffic congestion.
- Judicial Hub: Monitoring the construction rollout for modern legal infrastructure.
- Bridges & Local Connectivity: Streamlining departmental approvals for crucial regional road and bridge networks.
The meeting was attended by key lawmakers and senior officials, including Barchana MLA Amar Kumar Nayak, Balasore MLA Manas Kumar Dutta, Engineer-in-Chief (Civil) Er. Satyabrata Behera, Chief Engineer Er. Shibabrata Taria, Chief Engineer (Bridges) Er. Prabhas Kumar Majhi, and Superintending Engineers from both divisions.
Minister Harichandan directed officers to ensure zero-delay completion of all pending works so that the benefits reach citizens without interruption.
