A massive fire broke out at a vehicle showroom near the Sahadebkhunta bus stand under the jurisdiction of the Sahadebkhunta Model Police Station in Baleshwar, resulting in extensive property damage and the destruction of approximately 8 vehicles.
The incident came to light at around 9:15 AM when thick smoke billowed from the showroom before erupting into roaring flames. Swift action by the local fire services department prevented further disaster, successfully bringing the blaze under control. However, the sudden and fierce nature of the fire has raised serious questions among locals and authorities alike.
Severe concerns are now being directed at the showroom’s internal safety infrastructure. Eyewitnesses and authorities are questioning why the pre-installed fire extinguishers failed to function at the critical moment. Furthermore, major doubts have been raised regarding the effectiveness of the overhead water sprinkler systems, which reportedly failed to activate during the emergency. Regular compliance checks and fire safety audits are also facing intense scrutiny.
While preliminary assessments by fire officials point toward a suspected short circuit, the exact cause of the fire remains unclear. Investigations are underway to determine whether negligence or technical failure contributed to the disaster.
