The Odisha Vigilance Department on Tuesday arrested Shishir Kumar Dash, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Mathili Block, currently attached to the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Malkangiri, for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
The enforcement agency launched simultaneous raids across multiple locations associated with Dash. During the search operations, officers uncovered an array of high-value immovable and movable properties that the engineer failed to account for satisfactorily.
Unaccounted Wealth Uncovered
The unearthed disproportionate assets include:

Real Estate: 2 multi-storeyed buildings covering a total built-up area of 9,300 sq. ft.

Land Holdings: 6 high-value landed plots situated in prime locations.

Financial Holdings: Bank deposits and investments totalling ₹82 lakh.

Vehicles & Assets: 1 four-wheeler along with other household valuables.
Following his failure to provide a legitimate source for the accumulated wealth, the agency registered Brahmapur Vigilance P.S. Case No. 11/2026 under the relevant provisions of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act.
Forwarded to Special Court
Dash has been formally placed under arrest and is scheduled to be produced before the Court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Brahmapur today. Further investigation into his financial transactions, potential undisclosed assets, and bank accounts is currently underway.
