A shocking case of sexual harassment has emerged from Baragada district, Odisha, where a private college principal was arrested for allegedly assaulting a Class 10 student.
The accused, identified as Debadatta Pradhan, principal of a private college at Bardol, reportedly lured the student under the pretext of providing coaching. According to the complaint, Pradhan took the student from the college’s coaching centre to Baragada, booked a hotel room, and allegedly harassed him inside.
The family was initially told the student would have to stay overnight for studies. However, the victim managed to send a message to his family, alerting them about the incident. Police were immediately contacted, and the student was rescued.
Following the complaint, Baragada Town police arrested Pradhan and launched an investigation. The student’s family has demanded stringent action against the accused. Authorities confirmed that further inquiry is underway to establish the full details of the case.
