The Higher Education Department of Odisha has released the schedule for postgraduate (PG) admissions for the 2026–27 academic year.
Admissions will be conducted based on marks secured in the Common PG Entrance Test.
Students can visit the SAMS portal to lock their choices for preferred institutions between 3 PM on July 27 and 11:45 PM on August 2. The first merit list will be published at 4 PM on August 7, followed by the second merit list on August 17.
Candidates selected in the first round can exercise the freeze/slide/float options on the SAMS portal between 6 PM on August 7 and 4 PM on August 11. Classes for first‑year PG students will commence from August 21, according to the department’s notification.
For the 2026–27 academic year, 135 higher education institutions under the department will offer 32,531 PG seats across various disciplines.
