Odisha’s Higher Education Department has invited applications for the Mukhyamantri Research Fellowship 2026–27 under the Mukhyamantri Research and Innovation Programme (MRIP) to promote research and innovation in state public universities.
Eligible Ph.D. scholars must be permanent residents of Odisha and registered between April 1, 2024, and July 19, 2026, under an approved research guide. Applications are open on the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal from 4 PM, July 7, 2026, until 11:45 PM, July 30, 2026. Editing of submitted forms will be allowed on July 31, and applicant data will be forwarded to the Odisha State Higher Education Council (OSHEC) by August 5.
The department clarified that scholars selected under MRIP-2025 but not registered on SAMS cannot reapply. The schedule for document verification will be announced later on the SAMS portal.
