A shocking incident unfolded in Jamudiha village under Keonjhar Town Police Station limits when a man allegedly killed his wife during a family dispute.
Police identified the deceased as Rukmani Juang and arrested her husband, Baid Juang, in connection with the crime.
Investigators revealed that the couple had a long-standing dispute. On Sunday, the argument escalated, and Baid attacked Rukmani with a wooden stick in a fit of rage. She sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital by relatives and locals. Doctors declared her dead upon arrival.
The murder triggered tension and grief in the area. Police reached the spot, seized the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination. Officers confirmed that Baid Juang was taken into custody immediately and remains under interrogation.
Authorities said further investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the violent attack. Community members expressed shock over the incident and demanded strict legal action against the accused.
