Court Grants Interim Relief to Khan Sir, Stays Arrest in Patna Coaching Centre Firing Case

Popular educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, has received interim relief from a Patna court in connection with the coaching centre firing case that sparked controversy in Bihar’s capital earlier this month.

The district court granted interim protection to Khan Sir after hearing his anticipatory bail plea, effectively staying his arrest until the next hearing. The development comes as police continue to investigate allegations linked to a firing and vandalism incident near the Khan Global Studies Institute in Patna.

Speaking after the court proceedings, Khan Sir’s lawyer Arvind Kumar Mavvar said the order prevents police from arresting his client until the matter is heard again. He added that Khan Sir is free to travel and will cooperate fully with investigators whenever required.

According to the lawyer, the court sought the case diary and related records before taking a final view on the anticipatory bail application. The next hearing in the matter is scheduled shortly.

What Is the Case About?

The controversy began on June 2 when shots were allegedly fired near Khan Global Studies Institute in the Musallahpur Haat area of Patna. The coaching centre premises were reportedly vandalised, and a security guard sustained injuries during the incident.

The following day, a large number of students gathered outside the institute, raising slogans and expressing concern over the incident. Security was tightened in the area as tensions escalated.

Police later detained two security guards associated with the coaching institute. Investigators alleged that the guards fired shots into the air when a group of people reportedly damaged posters and pelted stones at the coaching centre.

FIR Registered Against Khan Sir

Patna police subsequently registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. Khan Sir was named among the accused, drawing significant public attention due to his popularity among students across India.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya Sharma confirmed that Khan Sir’s name had been included in the case during the investigation.

Defence Claims Conspiracy

Khan Sir’s legal team has strongly denied the allegations. His lawyer argued that the educator was falsely implicated and described the case as an attempt to damage his reputation.

According to the defence, the security guards acted only to protect themselves and others during the disturbance. The lawyer maintained that no one suffered injuries from the alleged firing and claimed there was no evidence directly linking Khan Sir to any unlawful activity.

The defence also alleged that the case emerged amid a dispute involving a rival coaching institute, suggesting that Khan Sir’s name was included as part of a larger effort to target him.

Investigation Continues

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the firing and vandalism allegations. Police are examining evidence, witness statements, and other materials related to the incident.

With the court granting interim protection, Khan Sir will not face arrest for now. However, the final outcome will depend on the findings of the investigation and future court proceedings.

The case remains under close public scrutiny, particularly among students and followers of the educator, as legal proceedings move forward.
