Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari have expressed their support for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026. The stars praised the squad’s talent, determination, and achievements, referring to them as “Team India’s 15 Alphas.”

The show of support comes just days before the prestigious global tournament begins in England and Wales on June 12.

Video Celebrates India’s Women Cricketers

Alia shared a special video on social media featuring herself and her Alpha co-star Sharvari. In the clip, both actors applauded the Indian women cricketers and highlighted their growing influence in international cricket.

When asked who inspires her the most, Alia immediately responded, “The Indian cricket team.”

She then praised several leading players, including Jemimah Rodrigues, Smriti Mandhana, and Harmanpreet Kaur.

“They all are too good,” Alia said in the video.

Alia’s Response Wins Fans

One moment from the video quickly attracted attention online.

When the interviewer clarified whether she meant the women’s cricket team, Alia responded confidently, saying, “That’s what I said – the Indian cricket team.”

The statement was widely appreciated by fans for placing women’s cricket on equal footing with men’s cricket and recognizing the achievements of India’s women players.

‘Team India’s 15 Alphas’

The video was shared with a caption celebrating the national squad.

“From 2 Alphas to Team India’s 15 Alphas! The message is clear, loud and proud. Team same, toh jazba bhi same,” the caption read.

The promotional campaign also highlighted the upcoming ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, which starts on June 12 and concludes with the final on July 5.

India’s Squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

India will enter the tournament with a strong squad led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur.

The team includes:

  • Harmanpreet Kaur
  • Smriti Mandhana
  • Shafali Verma
  • Jemimah Rodrigues
  • Deepti Sharma
  • Richa Ghosh
  • Yastika Bhatia
  • Arundhati Reddy
  • Renuka Singh
  • Shreyanka Patil
  • Radha Yadav

along with other members selected for the tournament campaign.

Defending champions New Zealand Women’s Cricket Team will enter the competition aiming to retain the title won in 2024.

About Alia Bhatt and Sharvari’s Alpha

The actresses are currently promoting their upcoming action thriller Alpha.

Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film is part of the expanding YRF Spy Universe, which includes Pathaan, the Tiger 3 franchise, and the War films.

The movie also features Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol in key roles and is scheduled for release on July 10.

Growing Support for Women’s Cricket

The endorsement from two of Bollywood’s biggest stars reflects the rising popularity of women’s cricket in India. With increasing fan engagement, stronger performances on the international stage, and growing commercial support, the Indian Women’s Cricket Team continues to inspire a new generation of sports enthusiasts.

As the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 approaches, expectations remain high for Harmanpreet Kaur’s side to challenge for their first world title and continue the momentum of women’s cricket in the country.
