Paralakhemundi witnessed a shocking incident when police recovered the half-burnt body of a postgraduate student from the upper floor of her house.
Local residents noticed smoke coming from the building and alerted the family. The student’s parents were away at work, while a tenant living on the middle floor informed them immediately. Police from Paralakhemundi Adarsh station reached the spot, opened the room, and discovered the charred body.
Investigators suspect the student may have taken the extreme step due to mental stress. Reports suggest she was awaiting exam results scheduled to be released in two days. The discovery of her body before the announcement has raised questions about the circumstances leading to her death.
A scientific team collected samples from the scene for forensic analysis. Police registered an unnatural death case and began a detailed investigation. Officers confirmed that the cause of death will be established after the post-mortem report.
Authorities are examining whether academic pressure or personal issues contributed to the tragedy.
