Bhubaneswar police announced traffic restrictions on Sachivalaya Marg and adjoining areas for the 78th Capital Foundation Day celebrations.
The restrictions will apply on April 12 from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM and on April 13 from 6:00 AM until the completion of the parade and function.
Commissionerate Police stated that vehicles from Housing Board Square towards Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at Keshari Talkies Square. Movement from AG Square towards PMG Square will remain prohibited, with diversions towards Raj Mahal Square. Vehicles from the Master Canteen side will be diverted before PMG Square, while Unit-IV Market lane traffic will not be allowed towards PMG Square or 120 Battalion Square.
Traffic from 120 Infantry Battalion Square will be diverted towards Power House Square instead of Rabindra Mandap. Vehicles from Lok Bhavan Square heading towards MLA Colony and Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at 120 Battalion Square towards Sastrinagar Square.
Police clarified that restrictions will not apply to vehicles authorised to enter official buildings such as the State Assembly, Secretariat, and other offices in the area. Emergency vehicles, including police, fire, and ambulances, will also remain exempt.
Authorities warned that violation of the order constitutes an offence under Section 96 of the Odisha Urban Police Act, 2003. Commissionerate Police requested the public to plan routes accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the celebrations.
