On the very first day of the self-enumeration phase of the 2027 National Census, Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati today provided his personal data, setting a strong example for the entire state.
The Governor stressed that every family in Odisha must be counted and appealed to all citizens to actively participate in the nationwide exercise. “As the first citizen of the state, I have fulfilled my responsibility in the self-enumeration process and urge every resident to do the same,” he said.
He requested full public cooperation during the house enumeration and listing phase so that no individual or family would be left out. The Governor underlined that active citizen participation will strengthen governance and improve service delivery across the state.
The self-enumeration process began today across India, with Odisha joining the nationwide drive.
Present on the occasion were Nikhil Pavan Kalyan, Director of the Odisha Census Directorate, and Chanchal Rana, Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC).
