Police recovered a stolen Defender car within three hours after thieves fled with it during a test drive in Bhubaneswar.
The theft occurred when suspects took the luxury Defender from a dealership under the pretext of a test drive. They never returned, prompting an immediate police complaint. Officers launched a swift operation and tracked the vehicle to Khallikote in Ganjam district.
Police seized the black Defender model in perfect condition. Both exterior and interior remained intact. Authorities secured the car and prepared to return it to the dealership. Investigators began identifying the culprits using CCTV footage and other evidence.
Police teams are analysing surveillance footage and witness statements to trace the gang involved. Officials confirmed that the operation demonstrated effective coordination between Bhubaneswar and Ganjam police units.
