Odisha Police athletes who achieved remarkable success in national and state-level competitions received felicitation today at Police Bhavan, Bhubaneswar.
Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania attended as the chief guest and honoured the athletes with certificates of appreciation and cash rewards.
Khurania congratulated medal winners for their discipline, talent, and determination. He said their achievements bring pride to both Odisha Police and the state, inspiring the younger generation to pursue sports.
Recently, Odisha Police athletes won multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals at the All India Police and Senior National Championships 2026. Ritu Kaudi and Sonalika Das secured gold medals in rowing, while athletes also excelled in canoeing, kayaking, karate, and athletics.
At the 74th State Police Athletics Championship 2025–26 in Cuttack, seven athletes set new meet records across 11 categories. Performers such as Bighnaraj Miridia, Ashok Dandsena, Susmita Tiga, and Sabita Toppo delivered outstanding results, establishing new milestones in their respective events.
The felicitation ceremony celebrated these achievements and reinforced Odisha Police’s commitment to nurturing sporting talent. Officials said the athletes’ success demonstrates the force’s dedication to excellence beyond policing, strengthening the state’s sporting culture.
The Odisha Police teams have successfully secured medals in the All India Police and Senior National Championships 2026.
