A car collided with a stationary truck near the Baldiamal petrol pump in Junagarh block, killing retired Dharmagarh SDMO Dr Harischandra Padhan (80).
Dr Padhan travelled from Bhawanipatna to Dharmagarh by car on Friday morning. His vehicle struck a truck parked along National Highway 26 near the Baldiamal petrol pump. The impact killed him instantly. The driver sustained injuries and received treatment.
News of Dr Padhan’s death spread quickly across the Kalahandi district. Residents expressed grief and remembered his long service as Sub-Divisional Medical Officer. His passing created a wave of sorrow in the medical community and among locals who respected his dedication.
