Amidst a surge in the number of devotees visiting the Puri Srimandir, the Anand Bazaar area is struggling to accommodate the increasing crowd, resulting in difficulties in serving Mahaprasad efficiently.
To address this pressing issue, Gajapati Maharaja Dibyasingha Deb has proposed setting up an Annakhetra, a dedicated dining area, outside the Northern Gate (Uttara Dwara) of the temple.
In a recent review meeting, a team led by Gajapati Maharaja assessed various ongoing development projects at Puri Srimandir, including the Srimandir Parikrama Project. The team also inspected other key projects, such as the Shree Gundicha Temple, the Shree Jagannath Ballav Pramod Udyan, and the Jagannath Ballav Pilgrim Center. The aim is to enhance the services provided to the devotees.
Further inspections and discussions will focus on additional facilities, including the Srimandir Office, Abhyarthana Center, Badadanda Development, Shree Jagannath Cultural Center, Raghunandan Library, and the Ananda Bazaar.
Gajapati Maharaja emphasized that, following a thorough review, necessary steps will be taken by the government to ensure the effective execution of these projects, aiming to improve the overall experience for the devotees visiting the temple.
