Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 57th Raising Day celebrations of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in Cuttack on March 6, 2026.


He praised the CISF for its crucial role in eliminating Naxalism across Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to making India Naxal-free by the end of this month.


Shah highlighted how CISF has strengthened national security by protecting 361 major establishments and 70 airports. He expressed gratitude to CISF personnel and their families for their sacrifices and contributions to industrial growth and national safety. He emphasised that India cannot become the world’s leading economy without industrial development, and CISF has safeguarded this progress for decades.


The Home Minister noted that CISF has evolved over 56 years, blending traditional discipline with modernisation. He said the force embodies courage, sacrifice, and dedication, enabling it to face every challenge with confidence. Shah assured citizens that the government remains determined to eradicate Naxalism and declared that India will achieve this milestone by March 31.


During the ceremony, Shah paid tribute to freedom fighters, including Jayi Rajguru, Buxi Jagabandhu, Veer Surendra Sai, and the youngest martyr, Baji Rout. He linked their sacrifices to the vision of a developed India by 2047.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, CISF DIG Ganga Shankar, and other dignitaries attended the event. CISF personnel showcased a ceremonial parade and skill demonstrations, reflecting the force’s discipline and readiness.
