Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, who is currently on a visit to Delhi, met BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Friday.
The leaders held detailed discussions on the state’s organisational programmes, various public welfare schemes of the government, and the party’s future course of action.
Majhi reached New Delhi on Thursday. The same day, he performed the bhoomi poojan for the construction of the new Odisha Bhawan building and met Union Minister for Railways and Communications Ashwini Vaishnaw.
On Friday morning, the Chief Minister visited the BJP headquarters and held a one-on-one meeting with the national president.
A decision on Rajya Sabha elections is also expected to be taken in Delhi. The BJP core committee in Odisha has already finalised its proposal regarding Rajya Sabha candidates and sent it to the central leadership. The Central Parliamentary Board will deliberate on the proposal and make the final announcement.
BJP’s Odisha in-charge Vijay Pal Singh Tomar said the Central Parliamentary Board meeting will be held very soon. The Rajya Sabha candidates will be finalised in that meeting. He added that the party’s Rajya Sabha candidates will file their nomination papers on March 5.
