A devastating road accident near Maratira in Angul district claimed two lives and left one person critically injured.
Amit Sahu, Bismay Das, and Gopal Sahu were returning from a wedding feast in a car when tragedy struck. Their vehicle rammed into the rear of a truck near Maratira under Jarapada police limits. The collision trapped the car against the truck, and CCTV footage confirmed the intensity of the crash.
Jarapada police reached the spot quickly, seized both vehicles, and rushed the victims to Angul District Headquarters Hospital. Doctors declared Amit and Bismay dead. Gopal, who sustained severe injuries, was shifted to Cuttack for advanced treatment.
The accident sent shockwaves across Angul. Amit Sahu, who served as the State Secretary of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal, was widely known in the region. His untimely death created a wave of grief among supporters and residents.
