A massive fire broke out today at a textile factory in Mancheswar Industrial Area in Bhubaneswar sparking panic among workers and nearby residents.
The factory specialised in manufacturing readymade garments.
Preliminary reports suggest the blaze may have originated from the factory’s solar panels. Thick smoke billowed from the building as the fire spread rapidly, damaging the upper portions of the structure.
Firefighters rushed to the spot with multiple tenders and equipment. Using hose pipes, ladders, and other gear, they launched an intensive operation to control the flames. Teams entered the factory to tackle the fire from inside, working to prevent further damage.
Officials confirmed that no casualties or serious injuries have been reported so far. However, the extent of property loss will only be known after the fire is fully contained.
Police and fire department officials have begun an investigation into the incident. The factory’s safety cover has sustained damage, and parts of the building remain at risk. Authorities are monitoring the situation closely to ensure the blaze does not spread further.
