Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will launch the Jagannath Darshan Yojana today from Nabarangpur district, marking a significant step toward inclusive development and cultural preservation.

During his visit, the Chief Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several welfare projects. He emphasised that balanced growth across all regions remains the government’s core mission. In a social media post, he expressed his commitment to safeguarding Odisha’s heritage while ensuring prosperity for its people.

Under the Jagannath Darshan Yojana, economically disadvantaged senior citizens aged 60 to 75 and widows up to 75 years will receive free travel to Puri’s Jagannath Temple. They will also be offered Mahaprasad at no cost. The government will cover transportation, accommodation, and food expenses.

In the first phase, more than 500 devotees from different districts will benefit from this initiative. The program aims to provide spiritual fulfilment to marginalised devotees while strengthening Odisha’s cultural identity.

The launch in Nabarangpur also included new development projects designed to accelerate regional progress. The Chief Minister described these efforts as a proud chapter in Odisha’s growth journey. The announcement has generated widespread enthusiasm among citizens, who see the scheme as both a spiritual blessing and a social welfare milestone.
