India showcased their batting firepower in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Warm-Up 2026 at DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, piling up 240/6 in 20 overs against South Africa.
The innings began with a blistering powerplay where India hammered 83 runs, setting the tone for a high-scoring contest.
Axar Patel anchored the middle overs with a composed 35 off 23 balls, while Hardik Pandya provided fireworks at the death, smashing 30 off just 10 deliveries.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav emphasised the importance of testing bowlers under dew conditions, while South Africa’s skipper Aiden Markram highlighted adaptability as their key focus ahead of the tournament.
Though the result of the warm-up match carries little weight, both teams used the opportunity to fine-tune strategies, experiment with combinations, and build rhythm before the World Cup begins.
