Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today unveiled Odia-language reference books for Class XI science students at Lok Seva Bhawan.
The books, prepared by the School and Mass Education Department, cover Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

For the first time, Odia-language science reference books will be distributed to every higher secondary school in the state. Each school library will receive 10 to 20 copies, ensuring students can access them easily. The books will also be available at district headquarters bookstores, with the Odia Study and Research Institute facilitating distribution.
The initiative will benefit nearly 1,20,000 students across 700 higher secondary schools. Officials emphasised that this marks a major step toward making Odia the language of learning from primary to higher education. Plans are underway to prepare similar reference books for Class XII science students in the next phase.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the move strengthens Odia medium education and ensures students can pursue science in their mother tongue. Ministers from various departments, senior officials, and education leaders attended the launch, reaffirming the government’s commitment to inclusive and culturally rooted education.
