OISF Bus Accident in Keonjhar Leaves 19 Injured

An OISF bus carrying 22 personnel met with an accident near Taduabahal under Champua Tahasil in Keonjhar district at around 7:20 AM today.


The accident resulted in 19 personnel sustaining minor injuries.

Six injured personnel received immediate medical attention at the Basudevpur Community Health Centre. Doctors provided first aid and discharged them after treatment. The remaining 13 personnel were admitted to Champua Sub-Divisional Hospital, where they underwent necessary medical care and were also discharged.

Officials confirmed that no grievous injuries or casualties occurred in the accident. The swift medical response ensured that all affected personnel returned safely after treatment.

The preliminary report underscores the importance of timely medical intervention during such incidents. Authorities are expected to review the circumstances of the accident to identify preventive measures for future travel arrangements.

The incident highlights the challenges faced by security forces during routine travel and the need for enhanced safety protocols. The Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF) plays a crucial role in maintaining law and order, and ensuring the well-being of its personnel remains a priority for the administration.

By addressing the accident promptly and ensuring proper medical care, the government demonstrated its commitment to safeguarding the health and safety of OISF personnel. The clarification that no serious injuries occurred provides relief to families and colleagues of those involved.

Odisha Vigilance today arrested Debadyuti Nanda, former Junior Assistant of the office of the Block Education Officer (BEO), Baliapal, for allegedly misappropriating government funds worth Rs 37.32 lakh. Nanda, currently posted as Junior Assistant at Padmalochan Government High School, Jagai, Baliapal, was taken into custody for preparing forged arrear pay bills between 2022 and 2026. According to Vigilance sources, Nanda fraudulently inserted his own forged arrear bills into the arrear DA bills of other employees under the BEO office, taking advantage of his position as bill clerk‑cum‑accountant. The manipulation allowed him to divert government money into his own account. A case has been registered at Baleshwar Vigilance PS Case No. 13/2026 under Sections 13(2) r/w 13(1)(a) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018 and Sections 467, 468, 471, 477‑A of the IPC. The accused is being forwarded to court today. Officials said the arrest underscores Odisha Vigilance’s continued drive against financial irregularities in government offices and its focus on digital transparency and accountability.
