Father of Missing Child Seeks Ban on Odia Film ‘Pari’

Ashok Sahu, father of the much-discussed missing child Pari from Nayagarh district, has submitted a petition to Deputy Chief Minister K.V. Singh Deo demanding a ban on the upcoming Odia film Pari.

In his memorandum, Sahu alleged that the film is being produced without his consent and misrepresents the tragic incident involving his daughter.

According to Sahu, the movie depicts Pari as a victim of sexual assault and murder, while he maintains that the actual crime was linked to organ trafficking. He expressed deep concern that such a distorted portrayal causes immense mental anguish to his family and misleads the public about the real case.

Sahu has also met the Law Minister and the School & Mass Education Minister to raise his objections, and later submitted his demand at the Chief Minister’s Office. He emphasised that justice has not yet been delivered in his daughter’s death, and the film’s release would only compound his suffering.

Following his appeal, Deputy CM Singh Deo assured that the matter would be discussed with the Industries Minister and necessary steps would be taken by the government.
