An Ama Bus collided with a scooter near Patrapada under the Tamando Police Station limits in Bhubaneswar on Saturday morning, injuring a delivery boy.
The accident occurred around 7 a.m. when the bus left the Patrapada depot for Dumduma.
Eyewitnesses said the delivery boy rode his scooter correctly, but the bus driver, who seemed inexperienced, struck him. Locals rushed the injured rider to a nearby hospital, where doctors admitted him for treatment.
Residents expressed concern over the rising number of accidents involving Ama Buses in Bhubaneswar and other parts of Odisha. They questioned why such incidents keep happening and demanded stricter checks on driver appointments. “The government must verify drivers thoroughly before assigning them to buses,” said a local resident.
