Two youths lost their lives in a late-night road accident near Bhalupada under Kokasara police limits in Kalahandi district.
The victims, Bablu Nayak and Amarendra Majhi, hailed from Kendudongari village.
The accident unfolded when the duo rode back home after attending a wedding ceremony at Bhainripali village on Friday night. They travelled along the Sunamal–Bhalupada road when their motorcycle skidded at a sharp turning point. The bike went out of control, throwing both riders onto the road. The impact killed them instantly.
Local residents discovered the bodies on Saturday morning and alerted Kokasara police. Officers reached the spot and arranged for the bodies to be taken to Koksara Community Health Centre for post-mortem examination.
The sudden deaths of Bablu Nayak and Amarendra Majhi have left Kendudongari village in grief. Families and neighbours mourn the loss of two young lives cut short by a tragic road accident. The incident highlights the dangers of late-night travel on rural roads, where sharp turns and poor visibility often increase risks for riders.
