The three-day Matsya-Pranee Samavesh at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar has become a major attraction, with the live fish exhibition drawing heavy crowds of visitors, farmers, and families.
The exhibition showcases advanced aquaculture techniques designed to inspire farmers, including cage fish farming in ponds, In-Pond Raceway Systems, Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), biofloc technology, integrated rice-fish farming, and combined fish farming with flowers and vegetables.
These visually striking displays highlight sustainable and high-yield methods, impressing attendees with practical, modern solutions for fish, shrimp, and crab cultivation.

Children are particularly captivated by over a hundred species of colourful ornamental fish, various carp varieties, and the iconic state fish of Odisha – the Mahanadi Mahseer.
Marine fishermen have shown keen interest in exhibits featuring advanced fibre fishing boats, branded engines, and modern nets.
One of the standout attractions is the live marine fish processing unit and sea kitchen, where visitors can watch fresh seafood being prepared on-site and enjoy their favourite dishes featuring fish, shrimp, and crab straight from the display.
